There seems to be a very thin line between control and denial or that they may both come hand in hand. When we try to desperately control the events that are playing out around us we are often left feeling frustrated and emotional at the lack of desired results. Self control can often mean letting go of the desired result, to detach from the current situation so that we can acquire a verified calibration of what is actually happening in reality rather than the alternate reality we are trying to project or impose onto the people around us or the surroundings of the environment that doesn't seem to conform.
Denial is something that is rarely spotted and is not an easy thing to come to terms with especially in the workplace and our close relationships. Denial is the root cause of the accumulation of multiple personality disorders and they all come down to one main issue - fear. The fear that is instilled deep within the heart of those who run from their own truth placing their power in the hands of limitation through the human ego and the shadow of their own existence. In the midst of denial there is no place for self control whatsoever because all bets are placed on the external whereas the act of inner control is within trained discipline to either let go entirely or to take the best possible action for the highest good of all concerned. Denial is a mental disease and eventually manifests in the physical form through disorders such as anxiety attacks and panic modes - like the boss who feels superior to the employees and refuses to take any suggestions on board in fear of being perceived as an incompetent player in the hierarchy or losing a position in business. He runs around the office trying to place every building block in perfect position, attempting to craft and shape each and every staff member until he eventually runs out of steam from not being able to cope any longer under the pressure. It is only here that he surrenders his intellect though he will not admit it, he believes that he has done so much for so many and for so little in return, self pity. It is in this final act of surrendering his own will that life can begin to shape the business as it should be rather than what he sees in his minds eye.
