The weather can often dictate how we feel inside and the sunny days surely help to motivate us. When winter comes around most of us go into hibernation and stay tucked away under the covers until early afternoon. When we let these external factors define our existence then we can only feel as good as our surrounding conditions. With bleak weather on the horizon over the winter months this could be a long, miserable season ahead. Finding the motivation within is not always easy though it has to be cultivated like the seeds in a garden then eventually it works on autopilot and runs itself throughout the year. The idea is to break out from our normal approach to life for if we repeat the same thing day in and day out then how can we expect any change to come about? Do something spontaneous like walking in the rain or taking the kids out in their wellies to splash in the puddles.
Changing our daily routine and habits is not an overnight job. Taking ourselves out of our comfort zones moves us into a different energy field and brings about willingness. This is the willingness that promotes change and will open new doors for the future. The simple changes in life have the biggest effect. Some of the most inspired minds in the world such as famous poets and artists have reduced their minds to a minimal amount of thought traffic and follow the patterns of simplicity, also known as patterns of excellence.
Where you would normally take a shower take a bath, drink water instead of coffee or get the bus for a change instead of driving the car along the same route everyday. This is called living in the world and exploring. Our body ages more quickly when we do not give it fresh activities to stimulate the idle muscles as does the mind if it is not subjected to fresh ideas. The neurons in the brain tend to fall away when they are not used therefore giving the mind food for thought is important.
