Move out of the way coconut water! Aloe Vera is a prickly and green stemless (or a very short stemmed) plant growing to 60 - 100 cm tall and is cultivated around the world though its origin is Africa. It is a succulent plant and part of the lily family (Liliaceae), the same family that garlic and onions belong to. The leaf of the plant contains a transparent gel that can be used in a variety of different ways. Traditionally Aloe Vera is applied to the skin, hydrating and replenishing our cells with its highly effective natural source of nutrients. It contains over 200 active components including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, polysaccharide and fatty acids - hence the reason it is used for such a wide range of remedies around the world. The plant can be used on the body both internally & externally. Aloe Vera contains many vitamins including A, C, E, folic acid, choline, B1, B2, B3 (niacin), B6. Aloe Vera is also one of the few plants that contains vitamin B12. It is high in amino acids and fatty acids and is also a well-known adaptogen. An adaptogen is something that boosts the body's natural ability and assists in resisting illnesses.

A wonderful source of Aloe Vera in liquid form called AloTone is a very rich source of Aloe Vera along with a delicious and exciting taste. It comes in several flavors such as Mango or Honey - this product is a must on your healthy food and drink list!
